Description
This is the Knik River in Alaska's Matanuska Valley as seen in winter, frozen solid. I made this photo from a bridge about 50 feet above the river on a very windy day. I love the scoured patterns of snowdrift on the surface. The east-most boundary of the Chugach Mountains dominate the background.
Photo made with my Yashika twin-lens reflex camera. Hand metered with a Seconic 308s.

Wow! I have never seen it like this. Is this near Jim's Creek?
The swirls are beautiful - there is a lot of wind out there.
I used to take my Argo out to the glacier in the spring time (river running low) and have crossed a few ice bridges that I didn't realize were ice bridges... until I saw the cavernous drop in a hole in the ice!
